The Giants activated C Hector Sanchez from the DL and optioned him to Fresno. P Eric Surkamp was also optioned, and will report to Fresno on 7/26. The team also sent Inf Joaquin Arias to Fresno for a rehab assignment.
Fresno also added P Adalberto Mejia, promoted from San Jose. OF/1B Todd Linden was placed on the disabled list. P George Kontos will report at a later date.
P Chris Heston has cleared release waivers and is now a free agency. P Hunter Strickland also cleared, and was released.
P Nick Vander Tuig was assigned from San Jose back to Arizona in the rookie league. P Enmanuel De Jesus was also sent to Arizona for a rehab assignment.
Augusta placed OF Jesus Galindo, 3B Shayne Houck and 2B Stephen Branca on the DL. P Stephen Johnson was activated from the DL.
