Giants transaction update: McGehee not DFA; Ishikawa is DFA

It turns out the Giants technically optioned 3B Casey McGehee after initial reports were they designated him for assignment (DFA) [either that, or the Giants changed their minds]. Despite being a 5+ year veteran, McGehee still had options remaining. However, because of his senior status, McGehee had to consent to being optioned, which he has. Thus, he remains on the 40-man roster and can be recalled once his 10-day waiting period expires.

1B/OF Travis Ishikawa was activated from the DL and DFA. Because he has been DFA in the past, he has the right to refuse assignment and become a free agent after the 10-day waiting period expires.

RHP Jake Peavey continues his rehab assignment, now at Sacramento (AAA).

RHP Erik Cordier has cleared waivers and outrighted to Sacramento. However, he has three days (per Andrew Baggarly) to refuse the assignment since he has been D'dFA before.

Other transaction notes:
Sacramento (AAA):
/Activated LHP Nik Turley from DL and assigned to San Jose (A+).

Richmond (AA):
-Placed OF Javier Herrera on DL (retro 5/26).
+ OF Ryan Lollis transferred from San Jose (A+).

San Jose (A+):
-LHP Mason McVay palced on voluntary retired list.
+OF Tyler Horan activated from DL.
