Affeldt, Hudson and Scutaro announced their intention to retire.

The Giants also officially activated C Andrew Susac, C Hector Sanchez, OF Juan Perez and 2B Joe Panik from the 60-day DL.
The Giants currently have 35 men on the 40-man roster. The deadline is coming up to add players to the 40-man to protect them from the Rule 5 draft.
