In addition to the Giants activating 3B Pablo Sandoval from the DL and optioning Brett Pill, the team also optioned P Steve Edlefsen and recalled P George Kontos.
The Grizzlies, to make room for Pill, placed 1B/OF Todd Linden on the temporary inactive list.
Pill will wear #50 with Fresno. No word on what Edlefsen will wear. Earlier this season, he wore #25 before his recall to San Francisco. Right now, P Jason Stevenson assumed #25. Also, with Sandoval gone, P Mitch Lively returned to wearing #48, from #45.
