The Giants signed 1B Travis Ishikawa to a minor league contract and assigned him to Fresno. Ishikawa started the season with Pittsburgh, playing 15 games before being released. He last played for the Giants organization in 2011, when he spent the entire year with Fresno. He has since played with Milwaukee, Baltimore, New York Yankees and two other franchises.
The Grizzlies have been shallow at first base, since Mark Minicozzi went down with a separated shoulder early this season. Adam Duvall, Chris Dominguez and Tyler LaTorre have all been playing there out of position.
The Grizzlies are now at a full 25.
