The Giants finalized their 25-man roster Saturday. The team purchased the contract of C Guillermo Quiroz, to give the team three catchers.
INF Nick Noonan also made the cut as a reserve infielder.
The team optioned P Jean Machi and OF Francisco Peguero. They placed 1B Brett Pill (knee surgery during spring training), INF Tony Abreu (still recovering from a quad strain that has plagued him all spring long) and P Erik Surkamp (recovering from Tommy John surgery last year) on the 15-day DL. They also reassigned OF Cole Gillespie (who was on a minor league contract) to the minors, likely Fresno.
The minor league rosters should be announced in the next few days. Most levels open on April 4 (Thursday).
