Giants/Grizzlies updates

A few transactions to report...

Even though the Giants optioned P Dan Otero on 3/15, they secretly must have designated him for assignment (DFA), because the Yankees claimed him on 3/26. But New York kept him for only one day, for DFA him again. Oakland then claimed Otero.

The organization thinned out some of its Fresno roster. The team traded away P Scott Proctor to Baltimore on 3/29/13 for cash.

They also released P Jason Stevenson (on 3/17) and OF Jarrad Page (on 3/19). Both played partially for Fresno in 2012. P Ramon Ramirez, who was released, then re-signed with the organization and will likely play in Fresno.

The Giants 25-man roster is likely to be announced Saturday. It appears INF Nick Noonan will make the team. The team is still at 38 men on the 40-man roster. The last roster spot appears to be for the fifth outfielder: Francisco Peguero or Cole Gillespie. Gillespie would need to be added to the 40-man.

Also, last minute health questions would need to be answered about C Hector Sanchez and 3B Pablo Sandoval. INF Tony Abreu appears to be destined to start the year on the DL.
